Posted on June 06 2017
If you ask a tea lover which flavor does he like to drink the most, you will probably hear him say something fruity or maybe something spicy like an apple and cinnamon combination. But if you ask which tea should they drink the most, everybody will pick green tea.
Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have a truly powerful impact on your body. Making the perfect solution when you want to lose some weight or want to improve your brain function, a green tea bag should always be on your shelf.
The truth is that we talk about magic in circumstances when we can’t explain things that happen with our logical algorithm. This is why we call green tea a magical drink, because its fighting power against diseases makes every scientist stand amazed. You have below proved facts on the effects green tea has on your body.
Green Tea Against Down Syndrome
Into a research, young adults with Down syndrome were split into two groups. The first group was given a decaffeinated green tea supplement along with weekly cognitive training, while the second group received a look-alike drink that had no green tea and had the same training.
The subjects took cognitive tests after three, six and 12 months. There were changes in some particularly skills: the ability to remember patterns, verbal recall, adaptive behavior where the “green tea” group scored significantly better.
Green Tea Against Alzheimer’s Disease.
Recent developments have uncovered one of the most exciting benefits discovered to the date: green tea is potential to prevent and possibly reverse the effects of the Alzheimer’s disease. This disease occurs as a result of your brain cells being impaired, and eventually killed.
Green tea gets right to the root the trouble by certain mechanisms: preventing the formation of amyloid plaques, breaking down existing ones and creating critical new neurons in the brain.
As a result for this study, green tea consumption has now been associated with a 54% reduction in the risk of developing cognitive decline. We can recommend green tea to do amazing for your neurological health.
Green Tea Against Mental Illness
Researchers in Switzerland conclude that drinking green tea can have positive effects on your mental health. After a blind test using 12 volunteers, a group given milk with green tea extract and another without. The group with green tea extract had increased working memory.
The findings provide first evidence for the putative beneficial effect of green tea on cognitive functioning, in particular, on working memory processing. Modeling effective connectivity between brain regions during working memory processing might help to assess the efficacy of green tea for the treatment in psychiatric disorders such as dementia.
Green Tea Against Obesity
Green tea does have the power to boost your metabolic rate, therefore it also helps you lose weight. Drinking a cup of tea daily will prove results in decreased body fat, especially in the abdominal area.
A recent study had 240 people split in two groups. One half had to drink green tea constantly for 12 weeks, while the other one didn’t. After this period, the drinking half had significant decreases in their body fat percentage, their waist circumference and their abdominal fat.
Green Tea Against Heart Diseases
We take this aspect seriously, since cardiovascular diseases are the biggest cause of death in the world. Luckily, green tea can improve the levels of the main risk factors: cholesterol and triglycerides.
This tea enhances the antioxidant capability of the blood, which protects cholesterol particles from oxidation. It is not surprising to see study results that show how green tea drinkers have around a 30% lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
Green Tea Against Cancer
Cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of bad cells in your body. We already know how oxidative damage contributes to the development of cancer, so it makes sense that antioxidants will have a positive effect in prevention.
Statistically speaking, after some observational studies were finished, scientist found out how those women who drink green tea had a 22% lower risk of developing breast cancer. Also, green tea drinking men had almost a 50% lower risk of developing prostate cancer. Here there are two of the most common types of cancer in the world, being avoided with just drinking regularly this magical beverage.
Amazing, right? When we found out about everything you just read, we knew we just had to spread the word around. We recommend two of our favorites teas: Karen Hunter’s Organic Green Tea and our Organic Matcha Powder.
